We can't be held responsible if two people submit similar ideas and we choose one. Many people have the same idea, or a variance of that idea, at the same time. That is just how it goes. For example, the plot "a protagonist learns the way of an indigenous culture and  slowly becomes one with them," has been seen as Dances With Wolves, Avatar, The Last Samurai, and Ferngully.
